DESCRIPTION

The LIN communication of the components related to the rain sensor occurs between the rain sensor and windshield wiper relay assembly.

When using the GTS with the ignition switch off to troubleshoot:

Connect the GTS to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the GTS and vehicle begins.

·

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.



PROCEDURE

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RAIN SENSOR - WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY)
a.

Disconnect the G85 windshield wiper relay assembly connector.


b.

Disconnect the Q5*1 or Q10*2 rain sensor connector.


*1: for LHD

*2: for RHD


c.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
for LHD
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
Q5-1 (MPX) - G85-14 (MPX1) Always Below 1 Ω
Q5-1 (MPX) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher


for RHD
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
Q10-1 (MPX) - G85-14 (MPX1) Always Below 1 Ω
Q10-1 (MPX) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
